Landscape Technician

To complete his or her Landscape Technician training, a student must master dozens of skills in the following categories:

Safety
Understanding and safe use of all power and hand tools. Use of material Safety Data Sheets. Proper procedures for storage of gasoline and hazardous chemicals.

Pesticide Use


Preparing and Improving Soil


Installation and Maintenance of Shrubs, Groundcover and Turfgrass
Ability to mulch, weed, plant, fertilize, prune, irrigate and aerate.

Tree Installation and Maintenance
Maintaining a permanent sprinkler system. Installing an irrigation system and use of sprinkler controllers.

Operating Equipment and Maintenance
Use and maintenance of seeder, edger, blower, vacuum, mower, trimmer, and tiller.

Greenhouse Maintenance


Constructing and Maintaining Facilities
