Assistant
Safety and Security Understanding of office safety protocol. Documentation of emergencies and accident reports. Perform General Office Procedures Appointments, telephone calls, mail, patient records, office equipment, process financial payments and complete insurance forms using ICD and CPT codes. Anatomy, Physiology and Clinical Procedures Knowledge of the structures and functions of all major systems to include: nervous, sensory, integumentary, musculoskeletal, respiratory, immune, digestive, urinary, endocrine and reproductive. Infection Control/ Sterilization Medical asepsis, surgical asepsis, impact of infectious diseases, principals of infection control. Perform Clinical Office Procedures Obtain medical history. Take and record vital signs. Perform the physical examination, basic pharmacology, knowledge of nutrition in health and disease. Perform General Laboratory Procedures Venipuncture. Hematology. Urinalysis. Basic microbiology. Specialty lab tests. Follow Emergency Procedures First Aid and CPR. Medication Administration and Medical Terminology Administer medications by various routes: oral, topical, parenteral, inhalent / Nebulizer, mucous membrane. Correctly spell common medical terms. Demonstrate knowledge of basic word structure of medical terms. Correctly use terminology in medical specialities.
