Welding
General Welding preparation Identify metals, welding joints, welds, welding inspection and principals. Use tools to shape and cut metals Identify and use a grinder, hacksaw, drill press, handtools, metal shears, and bandsaw. Cut with flame and plasma arc Cut, bevel, and gouge materials with hand oxy-acetylene cutting torch, and track cutter. Perform shape cutting operations with Plasma Arc Cutting. Interpret prints and drawings Learn to read and understand Blueprints and welding symbols. Prepare parts from drawings and sketches. Welding Mathematics Compute decimal equivalents, use decimal equivalent chart, add and subtract decimals, add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions, interchange fractions, use metric equivalent chart, and use a ruler and tape measure. Weld metals with Shielded Metal Arc Equipment Weld metals with Gas Metal Arc Equipment Weld metals with Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Equipment American Welding Society Certifications Will be certified with an A.W.S. All position, unlimited thickness test.
