Campus
Life Students have a lot of fun after classes too. A few of the many programs available are listed below.
Our Recreation Center offers many positive choices for students. We have extensive facilities, including a full size gym, raquetball courts, a six table pool hall, a 40 seat movie theater, a women's fitness center, a music room, a library, and a state of the art co-ed weight room. We also offer an art program, including a full service ceramics studio. We provide all needed sports equipment free of charge. Our programs include trips to local and state wide events, swim testing, league sports, as well as several student leadership opportunities. We invite you to come get in shape, sharpen your pool game, experience a movie, start a band, or participate in any of the exciting activities we have to offer.
Community service is an important part of Campus Life at Tongue Point. Students have opportunities to give back to their community through their vocations as well as on their own free time. Recent projects include stuffing backpacks with school supplies for low income youth, working at the local animal shelter and participating in a sing-a-long at a local Senior Center.
Tongue Point has several special events throughout the year, including an annual Fun Day sponsored by the Student Government Association. Tongue Point also has a Prom Night, film festivals, and a multi-cultural game day, which featured over 30 games, which were presented with their cultural history. Pictured here is a student testing his caber-tossing abilities.
The Executive Council consists of student officers in the Student Government Association, along with the student Presidents of each of the four Residences. The Executive Council is responsible for working throughout the campus to represent the voice of the students, and to present resolutions to the Administration of Tongue Point for positive change. Students are elected to office by their peers, and hold the office for a term of four months. |
